take his ass to the timeloop
A downloadable book for Windows
“take his ass to the timeloop” is an experimental short story originally told over the course of fifty days via Tumblr posts, reblogged every day from February 11th to April 2nd 2023, intended as a ‘concealed’ narrative that played out via several forms of invisible text.
The initial conceit arose from how Tumblr tags are not preserved in reblogs, and thus the only way to view a post’s tags from any given user is to click through to the post on their blog, which few routinely do. Thus the tagging system could effectively serve as the internal monologue of someone who is unable to speak, with the post serving as their external actions. Over the course of the timeloops progression, the narration expanded to include text hidden in the transparency of images and white on white text.
This file constitutes as both a consolidation and revision of the timeloop; the early structure of the narrative in addition to some personal issues presented some consistency and stylistic issues I wanted to take a second pass at.
A copy of the timeloop as originally presented is also included in this file, from pages 19 to 35.
